BRINGING WIND POWER ON SHORE

Amprion is one of four transmission system operators in Germany. Our lines are the lifelines of society. We are paving the way for the energy transition and driving grid expansion forward. With our offshore grid connections, we plan and install the technical systems needed to connect offshore wind farms to the transmission grid. They are implemented as cables and transport the wind power from the sea to the centres of consumption. This represents an important step in Germany’s transformation of its energy system.

CHANGING ENERGY LANDSCAPE

Germany wants to become climate-neutral by 2045 and is therefore focusing on the expansion of renewable energies. Amprion is planning and implementing new power lines that are needed to transport the electricity that is increasingly being generated in the North Sea region to where it is primarily needed: to the consumption centres in the west and south of Germany. In doing so, we are fulfilling our legal mandate. As a transmission system operator, we are expanding and modernising our grid so that millions of people can be supplied with electricity safely, sustainably and reliably.
